Legend says the violin and viola pair dubbed "the dark swans" bring tragedy to all who possess them.  When Richard and Deirdre inherit these instruments, the possibility of this curse hands in the air.

But is there a curse?  Or is it more a matter of how we look for excuses and some target for blame when things go wrong?  Or when things just don't do go the way we desire?

The families of these two young people proceed to collide, but why?  Is it really the Dark Swans?  Really?  Or are we ourselves responsible for what we do and what we feel?
