Review by Mark Hein.

Hour of the Tyrant was a massive edit of the original text, even to the point of adding lines and scenes from other Shakespeare plays.  Among the changes was to expand the character of Lady Anne (by including scenes from Romeo and Juliet as well as Julius Caesar), the ruthless trimming away of the cast by cutting away or combining as many characters as possible (the two Princes become one for example), and focusing on a specific idea--namely that Richard is a tragic figure, a monster but also as human and as responsible for his own destruction as Macbeth or Lear.

It was presented at The Complex in Hollywood during the Spring, 2018.
